Man, I don't remember that part of Super Mario RPG either.
Not much to talk about this week, since with all the graduate work I had to do there wasn't time for much gaming. I did manage to finish Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, though, which was... weird. Now, I don't mean it was bad. Quite the opposite, in fact. The game was very enjoyable. It was just a little strange is all, but I can't say much more without spoiling it for you. If you like JRPGs, and Final Fantasy in particular, it's definitely worth picking up. Just know that it's not quite like most other JRPGs you've played, and certain things will seem especially odd to those of you who've played Final Fantasy VII. Consider yourself warned.
Also, at some point this week make sure to check out the guest comic we did over at How Sweet It Is. I mentioned it a bit last week, but How Sweet It Is a weekly webcomic by jynksie that details the marital misadventures of Hodge and Mel as they navigate the tumultuous waters of wedlock in the 21st century. It's good stuff, so make sure to give it a look-see. For those of you coming from How Sweet It Is and visiting RESET for the first time, welcome! If you're feeling a little unsure of where to start a quick read through the "about the characters" section should bring you up to speed, at which point you can start bounding through the archives with impunity. We update each and every Monday, so if you like what you see make sure to come back next week for more RESET hilarity. Actually, next week I was planning on going off on a radical right-wing diatribe, so you may want to make it the week after that. (NOTE: I was just kidding about that right-wing diatribe thing. It's what I do. Please do come back next week.)
By the way, if any of you were looking for a game to make your head explode, try Bangai-O Spirits for the DS. It's pure, unadulterated mayhem, and I'm honestly not sure I'm up to the challenge. I do so love Treasure games, though.

It's the ancient symbol of his people and the source of all his powers. Or, y'know, it's just some crazy design I came up with. Mysterious!

I always thought it looked like some kind of crazy druggie eggplant with a face on it.
Just a thought.
