Lego Rock Band (Yes, you heard right)

Over at Kotaku it’s rumored that there is a Lego Rock Band coming our way from Harmonix and Traveler’s Tales (the makers of the Lego Star Wars games) later on this year. Now, you’re either thinking this may be the best nerd offspring ever or that you’d rather gouge your eyes out with a melon baller before allowing yourself to play another Guitar Hero/Rock Band spawn. Personally I think it’s about time the Lego dudes rock out with their blocks out!  What say you?

Well, checked the date on that Kotaku post, and it wasn’t April 1st. So yeah… I guess all that’s left to do now is wait for the announcement of a new Lego guitar controller…

p.s. nice artwork :) it’s awesome how the guitar head kind of doubles as a harmonica for the lady in pink :)

Yeah Max, this was actually on all the sites - Wired, 1up, etc. Seems pretty legit, though it is based on a slide of information that was NOT presented, but “accidentally” made its way to the internet through someone who worked at the GDC and had access to it. We’ll have to wait for E3 for more info, I suppose.
I honestly don’t know what the hell they’d do with it. Just seems rather weird. Legos aren’t known for having voices, which would kind of make singing a tad difficult. And what the hell kinda music are they gonna put in the game, anyway? They already started putting Spongebob songs in normal RB downloads… is Lego RB just going to be overloaded with kiddie fare?

Thanks, I have some mad Paint skillz…ha. Yeah I read this on Kotaku a few days ago and just got around to posting about it. I trust both Harmonix and Traveler’s Tales, and I’m sure it won’t be too kiddie, or else no one would buy it. I hope they do something neat with it though, it’d suck if it were in the same exact format as the other Rock Bands. I want mini games and interaction!

Hmm yeah, didn’t think about the mini-games. That could be interesting. Like how in GH3 you had to get weapons to defeat your opponents, in Lego RB battles you would collect studs/blocks and have to create something before the other guys in order to win the round. That could make it kinda fun. Still a little leery, but we’ll wait and see.
