Cheap 360 hard drives! Get ‘em while they last!

Are you one of the moro… umm, cheap ba… er, I mean “smart shoppers” who picked up either a Core or Arcade version of the Xbox 360? Well guess what - without a hard drive or some additional memory, you’ll be screwed when the New Xbox Experience launches next month. Way to go.

But let’s find out what you’ve won!

If you head over to the xbox website, you can input your system’s serial number and order a 512 MB memory card ($20, for Core owners only) or a refurbished 20 GB hard drive ($20 for Core owners, $30 for those with an Arcade system). It’s not a perfect solution to the problem, but it’s better than nothing, and proves that Microsoft really doesn’t want to leave some of their customers in the dust. They just want them to pay a little more first.

Now remember, you need to put your serial number into the website, so if you’re looking to maybe pick up a second hard drive because you filled up your existing one with all your Celine Dion albums (yeah, yeah, I’m sure she provides a good soundtrack for Halo. Just keep it to yourself), think again. Once the system finds out you purchased a Pro or Elite (or one of the sweet Halo 3 consoles), you’ll be SOL.

Head over to the website for details, and thanks to 1up.com for the original story/link.
