Virtual free-running… and jumping… and sliding… and…
As Brad reported from this year’s GDC, Mirror’s Edge from EA created some tremendous initial buzz when it was first shown and announced. Now that E3 is here, we’re getting even more video and information. The latest demo shows the same level as the initial trailer, but expands upon what is possible and gives some (though not a lot) extra information about what is going on in the game’s world. You can check out the video over at GameVideos (thanks to 1up.com for the link), and be sure to watch the new, updated trailer as well. This looks like a new take on the first-person perspective we all know and love (well, most of us love it, anyway) that is so prevalent in gaming today. As the developers at EA stated during the presentation, it’s even possible to complete the game without firing a single bullet… though it is rather difficult, they say.
It’s nice to see new IPs getting some well-deserved buzz, and hopefully this one can live up to the hype it’s been generating.
